My Commitment To You

To our referring partner veterinarians, my commitment is to ensure your patients can receive care 24/7 when they need it and to provide you with all the information necessary for follow-up after discharge. I want us to work together to deliver the care our patients require, to manage their medical conditions thoroughly and refer them to different specialties as needed.

To pet owners, my commitment is to listen carefully to your concerns, expectations and goals and to take everything into consideration in order to provide the appropriate care for your beloved pets and facilitate their recovery. I will ensure that you receive all the information you need to make decisions regarding their treatment plan and will support you as much as possible in these sometimes difficult and stressful situations.

Dr. Mathilde Silvert grew up in the north of France surrounded by numerous adorable pets and she quickly developed an interest in animal medicine and care. She studied at Lyon’s National Veterinary School (VetAgro Sup), which is the oldest veterinary school in the world! During her time in school, she took advantage of every opportunity to discover all kinds of veterinary practices and went abroad for several externships. She especially enjoyed a great shadowing experience in Canada, which made her want to come back! She graduated in 2019 and then moved to Bordeaux where she practiced Emergency veterinary medicine for almost two years before taking the leap and coming to British Colombia. She joined the Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital team in October 2021. She is dedicated to pursuing the accumulation of knowledge and skills in her primary field of interest which is Emergency Medicine. She finds working at BBVSH to be a perfect environment to continue doing so and to provide attentive care for every single beloved pet. She is highly motivated to actively learn and stay up-to-date with the latest scientific publications in order to help pets and their owners find the solutions they are looking for.

When not at work, discovering BC backcountry is definitely her favorite activity! She mainly spends her time outdoors, running, hiking or practicing agility with her Border Collie named Leïka. She also enjoys cooking, reading, playing board games and traveling.
