Dr. Hutchinson invited to teach Proximal Abducting Ulnar Osteotomy (PAUL) in Boston

Dr. Geoffrey Hutchinson was invited by KYON to be a course instructor for the Proximal Abducting Ulnar Osteotomy (PAUL) procedure in Boston, MA on August 8, 2015.

One of the most common causes of fore limb lameness in the dog is Elbow Dysplasia. Elbow Dysplasia is a generic term meaning arthritis in the elbow joint. As in people, arthritis in the dog is painful, resulting in intermittent and persistent lameness, especially following physical activity.

The PAUL is a palliative technique for the treatment of this lameness, showing particular benefit in younger patients, treated prior to the advanced stages of osteoarthritis.

The PAUL is a technically demanding surgical procedure that requires specific training to ensure the best possible outcome for dogs suffering from elbow dysplasia.

KYON Veterinary Surgical Supplies provides veterinary orthopedic surgeons with innovative products for joint and bone surgery in small animals. They invent, design, clinically test, manufacture to perfection, educate, and distribute throughout the world.

Dr. Hutchinson has been invited by KYON as a course instructor on many occasions and thoroughly enjoys the opportunity to do so.
