VECCS Level 1

BBVSH is proud to be one of only two VECCS Level 1 certified facilities in Canada.

The VetCOT Veterinary Trauma Center initiative recognizes veterinary hospitals that exemplify the team-based approach to trauma care.

We offer surgery, oncology, cardiology, neurology, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging and emergency critical care. As a certified VECCS Level 1 facility and a VetCOT Provisional Trauma Center, we are staffed, equipped, and trained to handle the most severe traumas and emergencies for dogs, cats and other small mammals.
Take a Tour
Much like a general hospital for humans has specialists and diagnostics that a typical doctor’s office doesn’t, our hospital is built to handle the acute cases. Watch this tour video to see for yourself.

Our board-certified veterinary specialists offer the following services to those living in the Vancouver Lower Mainland (Surrey, Richmond, Coquitlam, etc) and throughout BC. Canine rehabilitation is also available on-site.

In an emergency, moments matter... seconds count. As a VECCS Certified Level 1 & a VetCOT Provisional Trauma Center, we specialize in life-threatening emergencies.

We complement the care of primary care veterinarians

We are a fully-integrated, full-service specialty, emergency and critical care veterinary hospital; we provide specialty and emergency services to primary care veterinarians and their clients and patients.

We do not offer the wellness care, vaccines, or routine medical, dental or surgical procedures that primary care veterinarians normally perform. We provide care when pets have an emergency/critical condition, require specialty diagnostics such as CT or MRI, require the expertise of a board-certified veterinary specialist, or require specialty treatments such as mechanical ventilation.

If your patient or pet has an emergency, BBVSH is here 24/7/365 to help; walk-ins are welcome, no referral is necessary. If your patient or pet might benefit from a specialty consultation, we encourage a referral to a specialist at Boundary Bay Specialty Veterinary Hospital.

Being an emergency and critical care hospital, we are equipped and staffed – 24 hours/day, 7 days/week – to deal with any eventuality.

Where we are and who we serve

Boundary Bay’s specialty and emergency critical care animal hospitals are located in Langley, BC and Bellingham, WA. We are proud to serve dog and cat owners located in the following areas:

British Columbia – Vancouver, Surrey, Langley, Coquitlam, Abbotsford, Maple Ridge, Burnaby, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Vancouver Island, and beyond.

Washington State – Bellingham, Ferndale, Lynden, Mount Vernon, Burlington, Island, San Juan, and Snohomish Counties, and beyond.
