At Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital, our board-certified surgeons are in the building and on-call 24/7. They are equipped to handle any surgical or medical issue your pet may be experiencing.
We offer a wide range of diagnostic tests and surgical procedures across multiple specialties, including non-invasive laparoscopy, with dedicated separate soft-tissue, neurologic and orthopedic surgery suites.
From providing you with clear and understandable information, customized and accessible options that work best for you and your pet, to 24-hour aftercare and a comprehensive follow-up recovery plan, our goal is to get your pet back to enjoying what they love – walks on the beach, playing in the park, and cuddles on your lap.
After all, it’s these moments that matter most.
Our surgeons are certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS), which means they have completed an additional 4-5 years of specialized training, rigorous board exams, and must have published research in peer reviewed journals. Collectively, our surgeons have over 35 years of board-certified experience.
Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital was designed and built to handle even the most complex traumas and surgical emergencies. This includes:
As pet owners themselves, our staff understand that surgery is a stressful time for both you and your furry family member.
That’s why we provide:
In-house rehabilitation services including hydrotherapy, cold-laser and personalized therapeutic exercises help promote healing, improve mobility, and restore strength. The rehabilitation department works directly with your pet’s surgeon to fine-tune treatments to achieve a fast and full recovery.
Our orthopedic services address joint, bone, and ligament conditions.
We provide solutions for nervous system disorders of the brain and spine.
Our general surgery services address conditions involving the head, neck, thoracic, abdominal, and skin structures.
Our veterinary specialty facility is equipped to provide thorough diagnostic testing, including CT scan, digital radiography, laparoscopic biopsy and evaluation, MRI, needle aspiration and cytology, thoracoscopic biopsy and evaluation, tru-cut biopsy and ultrasound.
A referral from your family veterinarian ensures the proper transfer of medical information. It is beneficial to your pet and the specialty veterinarian to have all relevant medical information and will help your pet receive appropriate care.
If you do not have a family veterinarian, or cannot obtain a referral, contact a BBVSH client service representative at 604-514-8383 or send us an email to info@bbvsh.com.
