Pet-a-Palooza Vancouver

Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital (BBVSH) thoroughly enjoyed being part of Pet-a-palooza Vancouver this summer!

Thousands of people and their dogs filled Mainland Street in Yaletown for what turned out to be a beautiful Sunday in August.

The street was filled was a wonderful variety of pet related vendors from pet-friendly hotels to high-end pet collars, fancy leashes and so much more!  There were even lots of treat and food samples to be had by the hundreds of canine friends.

The highlight however for visitors was the much anticipated Running of the Bulls!  There were two races set up, one for French Bulldogs and one for English Bulldogs.  The event organizers from ‘Just Love Pets Society’ planned the day well as the race was only 20 feet long and there were many cooling stations available for any four legged friends who needed a break from the August heat.

Molly, a sweet Golden Retriever, became our mascot for the day and loved every minute of it.  She welcomed visitors to our booth, demanded tummy rubs on an as needed basis and sampled treats with much enthusiasm :).  Ronees mentioned that Molly pretty much slept the entire day following Pet-a-palooza after working so hard at being our wonderful greeter.

We were very pleased that Becky came by to visit us during the event! Becky is a patient of BBVSH Oncologist Dr. Sarah Charney. Although our main clinic is in Langley, Dr. Charney does travel to Vancouver on a weekly basis offering oncology appointments to our Vancouver patients just like Becky. Becky had her last recheck last week and her mom tells us that she is doing just great.

Our booth offered visitors a chance to enter their name for a gift basket draw.  Ji Fun, the winner of our dog basket, was thrilled to take home a basket full of goodies for her lovely Pomeranian.

Natural Balance Pet Foods generously donated a huge box of cat food to our booth at the end of the show.  We were very pleased to deliver the box to the Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS) where there are so many cats waiting for their furever homes.  The staff at LAPS were very grateful for the donation and ensured that the food would be very much enjoyed by their feline residents.

We were able to capture a few photographs of the many visitors at our booth. Molly especially thanks to everyone for stopping by to say hello!  We can’t wait to see what Pet-a-palooza 2016 has in store!
