Jovana grew up in British Columbia most of her life. She got her Bachelor’s of Science in Okanagan which she thoroughly enjoyed for its proximity to the mountains (she got to ski basically every weekend of the winter season).
When it came time for choosing a vet school, Jovana wanted to explore a new country, so she picked Australia. She fell in love with emergency medicine in her 3rd year of vet school at the University of Queensland when she started working as a vet tech at a specialty and emergency hospital.
Jovana graduated vet school in 2023 and went directly into emergency medicine (in a hospital in Seattle) and has never looked back. She loves the fast pace and that every day is never the same. She’s excited to be back at BBVSH after completing an externship here in her clinical year.
In her free time, Jovana loves being outside and hiking with her golden retriever Finley, who came back to Canada with her from Australia. He has been loving the cooler weather hikes as well as experiencing the snow for the first time. Jovana also enjoys skiing and travelling whenever she gets a chance.
