To pet owners, my commitment is to provide specialty information about surgical conditions, thoroughly explain the treatment options in a way that is easy to understand, and to be understanding during difficult situations. More than anything else, I am committed to doing what in the best interest of your family and your beloved pet.
To our veterinary colleagues, my commitment is to be approachable and keep the lines of communication open in order to provide specialized medicine and care for surgical patients, as well as their owners.
Dr. Tanya Wright grew up in Burnaby, BC and is very happy to be back on the coast after a long period living across Canada in Victoria, Saskatoon, Charlottetown, Toronto and Guelph for school and training. Her research has been primarily focused on canine osteosarcoma and developing new minimally invasive methods for detecting early cancer spread of this highly aggressive disease using blood samples. Dr. Wright enjoys all aspects of surgery but has a specific interest in minimally invasive surgical options and oncologic surgery.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outside in our beautiful province doing activities such as hiking, skiing, biking, and kayaking. She moved to BC with her friendly cat Rider and companion dog Gypsy.
She excited to be joining the extended Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital team in Surrey, BC and looks forward to being of service to pet owners in the Greater Vancouver area and meeting you and your beloved family members.
