To our referring partner veterinarians, my commitment is to remember that I am meeting and caring for our patients on a short term basis in their time of crisis, but that you have been caring for these families throughout their pets’ lives, making us a team. The best patient care with the most trust from our clients will be achieved by consulting with and updating you on ongoing diagnostics and treatments throughout the time that your patients are with us.
To pet owners, my commitment is to provide emergent and ongoing care for your pets based on their needs, and to explain your options each step of the way. I promise to remember what it feels like to be on the patient side of the table, and that exceptional medicine is made truly exceptional by caring for both my ailing patient, and their worried families.
Dr. Gina Dinallo is an Emergency and Critical Care veterinarian who recently completed her residency at Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists. She has a strong interest in trauma, management of emergent surgical cases, as well as coagulopathies, transfusion medicine, and many other aspects of emergency medicine. She truly enjoys the challenge of helping to resuscitate and stabilize multiple unstable patients at a time, believing that the potential to make a difference with intervention starts when the critical patient arrives. She practices medicine in a manner that has lead mentors and coworkers to compare her to a human trauma doctor.
Dr. Dinallo’s residency research project involved investigation of a potential novel modality to monitor heparin therapy, and she hopes to explore this area further. She also has previous research experience in nutrition and injuries in canine athletes, and a special love for working dogs. She hopes to continue to pursue clinical research in the private practice setting, as cases in the hospital inspire questions that warrant further exploration.
In addition to dedicated treatment of her own patients, Dr. Dinallo hopes to provide support to the ER clinicians at BBVSH, as well as the surrounding community–including assistance by phone when needed for unstable patients in need of transfer. She is a true believer that rapid and accurate intervention and stabilization saves lives, and looks forward to opportunities to put this into practice with her own cases, as well as teaching the staff she works with.
A New England native who could not resist the draw of the Pacific Northwest, Dr. Dinallo is thrilled to experience all the outdoor adventures this area has to offer. In her downtime she enjoys trail running, rock climbing, snowboarding, mountain biking, paddle boarding, and cross country skiing… All with her dogs Darwin, the most polite border collie, and Sebastian, a sweet but very exuberant young German shepherd.
