Who (and where) we are
Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital is a multi-specialty (critical care, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, neurology, diagnostic imaging, canine rehabilitation) hospital, and provisional veterinary trauma centre with our primary location in Langley, British Columbia (just outside Vancouver) and a secondary location in Bellingham, WA.
Our hospital offers a full complement of specialized diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including ultrasound, digital radiography, on-site CT and MRI, high flow nasal oxygen, and a critical care mechanical ventilator. In addition to a complete in-house lab, a full reference diagnostic lab with clinical/anatomical pathology and microbiology is adjacent.
About our emergency team
Emergency veterinarians receive primary cases and oversee primary patient care through our full-service ER department. ER doctors work closely with the specialists to provide continuity of care of hospitalized patients and to facilitate communication with clients and referring veterinarians. Board-certified criticalists and board-certified surgeons are available as backup 7-days/week. Duties include daytime/evening/overnight emergency receiving shifts, oversight of after-hours hospital operations and staff, and direct participation in the management of specialty cases. ER doctors are the frontline for evaluating, admitting, and coordinating transfer to specialty services and are encouraged to advance their skill sets by learning specialty procedures and therapeutic techniques! Our emergency doctors work very closely with the BBVSH criticalists in a team-oriented approach to managing the most critical emergency and hospitalized patients. Be prepared for your skills and knowledge as an emergency doctor to grow! Continuing education is provided regularly in-house by the specialists and all staff are CPR certified.
The region boasts world-class cultural and outdoor recreational offerings. Our specialists and staff are enthusiastic, down-to-earth, and collaborative, and the hospital promotes an enjoyable, positive, and supportive environment for all. Flexible scheduling and full benefits are available. Part time, full time, and locum positions are available.
