Diagnostic Imaging

Our board-certified specialists use diagnostic imaging for pets as a non-invasive method to quickly and accurately diagnose medical conditions in our patients.

About Diagnostic Imaging at Boundary Bay Veterinary Specialty Hospital

Diagnostic imaging is a non-invasive method to diagnose medical conditions in cats and dogs by visualizing bones, tissues, and fluid densities to identify, track and treat potential or current health problems. When your pet is admitted to Boundary Bay, we have a wide array of imaging and diagnostic tools at our disposal to ensure we can provide you and your pet with several options for care.

Our specialists use our advanced, in-house imaging techniques such as CT scans, high-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), digital radiography (X-rays), radiographic contrast procedures, ultrasonography, fluoroscopy, C-arm, ultrasound and echocardiography to quickly and accurately diagnose and guide effective therapy for our patients.

This image shows a veterinary technician carefully preparing a sedated dog for a computed tomography (CT) scan.
In a sterile veterinary imaging suite, two veterinary professionals wearing green lead aprons, surgical masks, and blue hair covers prepare a sedated black dog for imaging.
In a veterinary imaging room, two veterinary staff members work together to position a sedated black dog for an MRI scan using a Siemens MRI machine.

Our Code of Conduct

we love animals

Respect

We are here to take good care of your pet and we’re committed to establishing trust and mutual respect with our clients, however, please know that abusive language, aggressive behaviour, and lack of respect toward any of our staff members will not be tolerated.

Most Critical First

We prioritize care based on severity, ensuring that the most critically ill patients receive attention first. Upon arrival, your pet will undergo a thorough triage assessment to determine the level of urgency. This process allows us to quickly identify and treat potentially life-threatening conditions.

Pay For Service

Emergency Services aim to diagnose and support your pet during their illness or crisis; however, please recognize that you are paying for the services rendered, not the results achieved. The fees cover time, expertise, and resources dedicated to your pet’s care, regardless of outcome.

If your pet is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, come directly to our hospital.
